U.S. Masters Swimmers Insured by Health IQ

Several USMS members already count themselves as Health IQ clients, including Denise Dombay, a Masters swimmer from Germantown, Md. She was recently shopping for life insurance when she came across an ad for Health IQ life insurance for swimmers on Facebook. Health IQ interviewed her about her experience.

Health IQ: How long have you been involved in swimming?

Denise Dombay: I’ve been swimming since I was 5 years old, and I also swam competitively for the George Washington University swim team (Class of ‘88). The lifelong friendships I’ve made through the swimming community have been a great source of camaraderie. At the pool everyone is a swimmer.  It doesn't matter where you came from or what you do outside the pool. What matters is that you're there to swim early in the morning or late at night.

HIQ: As a healthy and active swimmer, what made you consider getting life insurance?  

DD: Like most people I first got life insurance when I got married.  When I had my two children it became even more important. Anyone who has someone in their life who depends on them for financial support should consider life insurance.

The medical checkup was very quick and painless -- it took less than an hour and I had the results back in a couple of weeks. When I got the special rate from Health IQ, it was exactly as my agent quoted, much less expensive than the corporate plan, and it was something that I could carry with me no matter where I worked.  

HIQ: Would you recommend Health IQ to other USMS Members?
