Mary served as the Oregon LMSC Top Ten Recorder from 2003-2009. In 2005, she began shadowing the Chair of the USMS Records and Tabulation Committee, Mary Beth Windrath. Mary has independently compiled the Top 10 to help ensure all three Top 10 lists (SCY, LCM, SCM) are as accurate as possible. The process includes confirming time accuracy, split accuracy, distance races swum completely, relay clubs and age groups are correct, and compliance with the Top 10 timing system and pool measurement rules and regulations. Compiling, comparing, and investigating these lists involves over 60,000 swim-times each year – a daunting task that Mary volunteered to do.
