U.S. Masters Swimming Dorothy Donnelly Service Award

Art Mayer became active in Master Swimming in 1975 when, with University of Delaware swim coach Harry Rawstrom, he established a Masters team. He served as meet director or assistant meet director for more than 35 meets in the Delaware Valley LMSC. Art served as the Registrar and Chair of the LMSC and established its first newsletter. Nationally, Art served on the International, Sports Medicine and Convention committees and chaired the USMS Registration Committee. He also helped create, with Mike Laux, the "not so serious" presentation at convention of the Ransom Arthur Award.  Finally, he tirelessly supported youth and university swimming programs in the Delaware area.
