Alice began volunteering in the 1970s by assisting the founders of Oregon Masters Swimming, Earl Walter and Connie Wilson. She helped with newsletters, meets, results, and anything else that needed to be done. All processing was done manually in the early days of USMS. Since 2009, Alice twice served as editor of the newsletter and integrated technology into the position. She sought articles of interest to share with OMS swimmers, kept every contributor on task for meeting deadlines, and produced a professional looking newsletter 10 times per year. She brought new ideas to the board to improve technology. Alice demonstrated how volunteers make our Masters Swimming organization what it is today.
