Marcia Benjamin founded and coached Marcia's Enthusiastic Masters of Oakland (MEMO) and brought to the Pacific LMSC a new USMS club in an area where there wasn’t a Master’s Swimming club before.  Marcia worked within the local Community College and the local school district’s system and she created a successful program. Marcia went beyond her coaching role and gave her time to scheduling over 34 pool and open water competitions. She served as the Scheduling Chair, the Open Water Points Tabulator and the All-Star Tabulator for the Pacific LSMC.  Nationally she served on several committees for many years and in 2006 she was the Vice Chair of the USMS Long Distance Committee.
