Active for nearly 10 years, Sue contributed at all levels of the Florida LMSC. At the Brandon Swim and Tennis Club she organized fitness clinics, postal swims, and served as meet director. She wrote articles for the Florida Maverick Masters and helped with fundraising. She served as Sanctions Chair  for the LMSC and was the incoming Fitness Chair. Disabled with Cerebral Palsy at birth, Sue competed in Masters meets as well as Paralympic competitions, including their Olympics four times. She received the First Florida LMSC Overcoming Adversity Award, which was named in her honor. Sue also served on the USMS Fitness Committee for 4 years.
