A longtime member of the Southern Pacific LMSC, Steve served as the board Chair from 1983-1991, 1993-1994, and 1998-2001. He was Vice chair in 1992 and Secretary from 1994-1997. Steve was also the Southwest Zone chair from 1992-1997. He served as meet director for the SPMA Championship meet 10 times and the annual Turkey Shoot Meet 18 times. Steve coached a Masters swim club for 18 years. He was a founding member of the Masters Aquatics Coaching Association (MACA) and served as the organization’s Treasurer. On the national level, Steve began attending the USMS Convention in 1983. He served on the Coaches Committee for 8 years, including 2 years as the chair. Additionally, he was a member of the Long Distance Committee for 14 years, the Legislation Committee for 6 years, and the Championship Committee for 2 years.
