USMS 3-6 Mile National Championships

Windsor is a small community located about an hour’s drive north of Denver, near the larger cities of Ft. Collins, Loveland and Greeley. Lake Water Valley, a manmade lake, is part of Water Valley's 27-hole golf course, which is known for having the most shoreline of any golf course in America. The course will take swimmers around an island, including under a pedestrian bridge, in four 1500 meter loops to complete the 6 kilometers. Spectators can walk around the island and follow swimmers for most of the race course.   

Swimmers can also explore the surrounding area during their visit. Besides the golf course, another popular attraction is the Budweiser brewery just north of Fort Collins. Whitewater rafting northwest of Fort Collins on the Poudre River is also popular. Rocky Mountain National Park is an hour west of Windsor and has the highest maintained highway in the nation. It is outstanding and wildlife viewing in June is spectacular. Closer to Windsor is Boyd Lake State park in Loveland, a 15-minute drive where visitors can camp, fish, picnic, swim, hike and bike.
